The vision of the Canadian Paralympic Foundation is to enrich, broaden and diversify the lives and health of Canadians with physical disabilities.

The Paralympic Movement offers people with a disability the chance to not only enjoy sport and recreation but to excel! Of the 25 sports on the Paralympic Games program, some are unique but most have simply been adapted through rules or equipment to allow the athletes to reach their full athletic potential. Even those individuals with severe disabilities can now become more fit, develop their self-confidence and experience the liberating benefits of sport.

At present, Canadians with a physical disability are significantly less likely to participate in recreational or competitive sports when compared with able-bodied Canadians.
